Anant Joshi was born in 1969 and did his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Fine Arts from the Sir J.J.School of Arts, Mumbai. He has had one-man shows at Gallery Chemould (‘Mukhauta’, 1999) and has displayed site specific works at Thane (1998). He has also participated in several group exhibitions and has been the recipient of the Bombay Art Society Award. He has been an active participant in several artist camps. He lives and works in Dharavi, Mumbai. One of his primary artistic engagements in excavating popular cultural texts and using them to inspire meditations on various social contructs
