MILBURN CHERIAN was born in 1957, is a Diploma holder in visual communication from the National Institute of Design, Ahmdebad. She has received the E. Schlesinger prize in 1999 by Mr. Dnyaneshwar Nadkarni. She has held several solo exhibitions: at Pradarshak Art Gallery, Mumbai in 1995; Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai in April 1998 & April 2001; Jewel of India April 2001; The Fine Art Gallery in Dec 2001-Jan 2002. Has participated in important group exhibitions all over India at Mumbai; Harmony show at Nehru Centre, Mumbai; at Bilmat Zeramics in aid of the Akanksha Foundation during the Kala Ghoda Festival 2002; Shakti organized by Hacienda & Gallery Beyond; Golden Jubilee of the Jehangir Art gallery, Mumbai since 1998. Participated in a Charity Auction of Art by Women Artists of India Christies of London being the auctioneers in January 1999 at Mumbai; auction organized by Osian's in February 2001; auction conducted by Christies of London in aid of the Concern India Foundation in March 2002. Has participated in important camps camp at Mumbai by the RPG Group & The Arts Trust in 1999, 2000 & 2002; art camp organized by the Oberoi group Of Hotels in Mumbai 2000 & 2001; camp organized by the Aditya Birla group in Alibaug 2001. Milburn lives and works in Mumbai.
