MANU PAREKH was born in 1930 at Ahmedabad, he studied at the Sir J.J.School of Arts, Mumbai (1962). He has participated in several group shows including the Third and Fourth International Triennales, New Delhi (1975, 1978) Modern Indian Paintings, Hirshhorn Museum, Washington D.C. (1982) and in addition has had a number of solo exhibitions. A recipient of the Lalit Kala Academy national award in 1982, he was also awarded the Padma Shri in 1991.
