PRAKAASH CHANDWADKAR (b-1965) Prakaash graduated in B.F.A (Drawing &Painting) from the Government School of Art, Marathwada University, Aurangabad in 1985; 1985-86 enrolled in the Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai, Degree Program in Sculpture; 1987 joined the Printmaking Department at Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal; 1988 Worked in Garhi Artist%u2019s Studio, New Delhi for 3 months; 1989 worked for Marg publications, Mumbai; 1990-91 worked in the Medium of Printmaking at Kanoria Art Centre, Ahmedabad; 1991-93 continued working in the printmaking department of Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal; 1994-97 worked in Aurangabad in Personal Studio; 1998-99 worked in the Nepal Association of fine Arts (NAFA), Kathmandu, Nepal, also worked in the same period at Auroville, Tamilnadu. Hs received several awards: 1980-83 Merit Award of Rangarekha, Government School of Art, M.U, Aurangabad; 1984 Annual award of Rangarekha, Govt of School of Art, M.U., Aurangabad; 1991 4th International Biennial exhibition of Prints, Wakayama, Japan; 1993 All India award, Rajasthan Lalit Kala Academy, Jaipur; 1994 Vasantrao Naik Puraskar, Mumbai; 1996 6th Bharat Bhavan Biennial of Contemporary Indian Art, Bhopal; 1997 Rudy Lawyer award by Dnyaneshwar Nadkarni, Mumbai; after this he stopped participating in any competitions when he started studies in Buddhism. He has held several solo shows 1995 Shrishti Art Gallery, Hotel Rama International Aurangabdad, 1996,1998 & 2000 Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, 1997 CIC Art Gallery Auroville, Tamil Nadu, 1998 Espresso Gallery Bangalore, 1999 Siddhartha Art Gallery, Kathmandu, Nepal. He lives and works in Kathmandu.
