MADHAB BHATTACHARJEE was born in 1933 at Kolkata, a student of eminent sculptor Professor Prodosh DasGupta. Graduate of Government College of Art in 1956. Government of India Cultural Scholar, M. S. University Baroda 1958-60. Under the guidance of Professor Sankhi Chaudhury. Sculptors work camp for marble carving, Jaipur and Makrana 1962, Organised by Lalit Kala Academy. Participation: All in the major exhibitions in India and international exhibitions. Awards: Lalit Kala Akademi New Delhi 1961 Governor's Gold Medal, Academy of Fine Arts Kolkata 1961. Certificate of Merit, Birla Academi of Art & Culture Kolkata 1972. K. d. Ghosh Memorial Medal from Indian society of Oriental Art Kolkata 1984.
