Dharmendra Rathore was born in 1965 at Salari, Rajasthan. Secured 1st Class Diploma in painting from Rajasthan School of Art, Jaipur. Secured 1st Class M.F.A. from Delhi College of Art, New Delhi. He is the recipient of Scholarships from the Lalit Kala Akademi, Jaipur (1989-93) and Delhi (1993-94). He has received several awards and besides many solo shows in Jaipur 1988, Vadehra Art Gallery, Delhi 1992 & Jehangir Art Gallery 1994, 1997 & 2000, 2001; participated in the Save the Children Auction conducted by Bowring's 2002 at Mumbai; he has participated in camps and group shows in Delhi, Jaipur, Udaipur, Chandigarh, etc to name a few. He lives and works in New Delhi. STATEMENT The colours that Dharmendra unleashes on his canvases are reminders of his feelings about changes taking place in our village life; of draught and flood; of the coming and going of seasons; even the daily cycle of night and day; of the colours that change within moments, or even those that are evoked in our sensibilities and are quite different from the ones we may actually be seeing at the time....
