Dhruva Mistry was born in 1957 at Gujarat, India, he studied sculpture at the M.S.University, Baroda and the Royal College of Art, London. He represented Britain at the Third Rodin Grand Prize Exhibition, Japan (1990) and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of British Sculptors. He has had numerous solo shows in London and has participated in several major exhibitions, including the Fifth International Triennale, New Delhi (1982), A Journey through contemporary Art, Hayward Gallery, London (1985), Summer Exhibition, Royal Academy of Arts, London (1996) and ART'96. The London Contemporary Art Fair, London (1996). He is also represented in the permanent collections of the City Museum and Art Gallery, Birmingham, the City Art Museum, Japan, National Museum of Wales, Cardiff, Roopankar Museum, Bhopal, Tate Gallery, London, the British Council and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. He presently lives and works in London.
